Providing heating and cooling for homes, buildings and industry accounts for roughly 50% of global energy consumption. Smart production, exchange and consumption of heat in heating grids is the most significant opportunity for cities and industries to decarbonize. Yet, as heating grids transform towards renewables, they become increasingly complex and require a new approach to control and design.
Gradyent is a leading software provider that helps cities and heavy industry decarbonize faster by digitizing, optimizing, and transforming their heat networks with our Digital Twin.
We are scaling the platform globally and looking for a Solution Consultant for the Netherlands, DACH & Nordics market to join our Sales and Operations team.
A quarter of all energy in the world is consumed to heat industrial processes. The majority of that heat is supplied via very large steam networks, which is the biggest opportunity to decarbonise the industrial sector. Gradyent is on a mission to help industrial clients realise energy efficiency gains and decarbonise faster by digitising steam networks with our Digital Twin platform. Backed by a group of top investors, we are scaling the platform globally.
As solutions consultant, you will establish yourself as expert in the industrial heating sector and have a key role in our sales process. Both the steam grids of our clients as well as our product have a high level of complexity. You will be the one that will understand both, from a deep technical and business value perspective, and connect the dots between them.
Typically, when a potential client progresses in our sales funnel, the client will need more technical expertise then the business development people can offer. The SC is the one that makes tangible how a digital twin can accelerate decarbonization and efficiency in their specific context. The SC defines the solution, journey and ensures the digital twin will create the most value for the client. SCs are often the most qualified resource on the call, and both the seller and buyer often put a lot of trust in the SC.
In this role you will develop both deep knowledge of industrial heating systems and digitalization, you will need the selling skills to uncover client needs, and creative and explanatory capabilities to fit those to our new innovative technology. You will work directly with the Business development leads and be their technical counterpart, and work internally with our product (marketing) teams to ensure our offering stays up to date.
Attend sales meetings and lead the technical part
Being the trustworthy touchpoint for the clients engineers and build relationships
Engineer solid client business cases and fit the right proof to it
Give demo’s of Digital Twins and explain our technology, also when asked to comparisons with alternative solutions
Being hands-on and gather and analyse the customer’s information and data
Work out part of our product proposition and new slide decks as groundwork for our commercial teams
Uncover value-driving use cases and design client solutions and journeys as we build out our product
Prepare proposals, onboarding and kick-offs of new clients.
Drive technical alignment between Ops, Product, and Sales teams across regions
Gather examples of project implementations in your region, ensuring they reach the market and new clients
Provide customer feedback to OPS and Product team for roadmap and new features
BSc, MSc or PhD, in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical, energy, industrial engineering or other)
3-6 years of working experience, preferably in the context of process industry in a client-facing role (consulting or sales engineering experience is a pré)
Experience with or knowledge about industrial heating systems or large-scale heat management.
Business-oriented without losing touch on engineering content
Strong verbal presentation skills for explaining complex matters in an understandable way
Strong written communication to communicate with multiple (internal and external) stakeholders at the same time
Proactive analytic problem-solver able to translate technical insights into economic value
Comfortable with ambiguity and changing scope
Good listener able to read between the lines
You know how to communicate about risks and uncertainties, and able to ask for help
Strong personal developer, open to feedback, embracing opportunities to grow.
Strong in English, native/fluent in German or other languages is a plus
